See TeaWithMarie.com Wanted to help local people in need  Organized ten charity teas for the Jonnycake Center and kept them going for ten years. Initiated the creation of a new State commission Started effort in her Narragansett home’s basement to create a new Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Rhode Island. Organized professionals, administrators, Deaf culture and hard of hearing culture. A new Commission was formed.
Here are some of Marie’s past community projects Armed with a strong passion for helping people and a Master’s degree from URI, Marie’s accomplishments go well beyond this list.
Needed to support her children  Marie started her own cleaning business while earning her advanced degree from URI. Wanted to help children She started a home-based play group and from that she became a co-founder of a professional nursery school.  Wanted to help local student Marie became a mentor of one student for a full six years. The student subsequently graduated from high school and college. Wanted to write Marie wrote a column for the South County Independent and went on to write and publish two books. Wanted to help her church Marie organized and ran several auctions and fund-raisers. Wanted to honor local 8th graders Marie organized a tea in their honor at the local Bed and Breakfast, Eden Manor. Now, Marie wants to help her town prosper She feels that Narragansett needs a center of focus and that should be located in vicinity of Narragnsett Pier. With a strong center, our town will be redefined and strengthened and our community unified. Visitors will feel the energy and want to participate by centering their own activities  where it feels “right.”
Wanted to help local Vietnam Veterans Used her professional and organizational skills to help the local Vietnam Veterans groups and families.
